On November 2, 1989, Governor George Deukmejian appointed Rodney L. Walker Judge of the Municipal Court. In 1995, Judge Walker was cross-assigned by the Chief Justice of California to serve as a Superior Court Judge. That assignment became permanent with Court Consolidation.


In keeping with the varied range of experience he brought to the Court, Judge Walker was at various times assigned to Criminal, Civil, Family Law, Probate and Juvenile Departments. Judge

Walker served full time as a Riverside County Superior Court Judge for 19 years, until his retirement in 2008, and for two additional years in the California Assigned Judges Program, handling thousands of cases and hundreds of jury and non-jury trials. 


Judge Walker resigned from the Bench and re-activated his California Law license in 2011 in order to join his son Barry as a partner in the newly formed law firm of Walker Trial Lawyers,

LLP, with offices in Riverside, California. 

Barry M. Walker was admitted to the California State Bar in June 1998.  That year, he joined the Clayson law firm in Corona California as an associate attorney.  Established in 1910, the Clayson firm immediately recognized Mr. Walker’s legal talent and by January 2002 offered him a full partnership with the firm.  While practicing at the Corona firm, Mr. Walker himself as an excellent litigator and highly effective trial lawyer.  


Mr. Walker’s honesty, integrity, hard work, innovation and unparalleled dedication has lead to lasting personal and professional relationships with his clients, while earning him the respect of attorneys facing him in court and at the negotiating table.

Amy M. Oakden received her juris doctor from Chapman University with honors in 2006 and has demonstrated her knowledge, skill and tenacity with every case she has handled for her clients.

Ms. Oakden has spent the vast majority of her legal career helping clients solve problems by aggressively attacking the claims of opposing counsel in and outside the court room. 


Ms. Oakden’s expertise is in the areas of civil litigation, employment law, business law, estate planning, medical

malpractice, personal injury

and family law.  In her varied practice, Ms. Oakden demonstrates on a daily basis her superior problem-solving skills in addressing her clients’ legal needs. 


Ms. Oakden is admitted to the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of California and the United States District Court, Central District of California.

Larissa A. Branes is an associate at Walker Trial Lawyers, LLP and focuses her practice on Family Law, real estate and business civil litigation.


Ms. Branes received her B.A. from the University of California, Irvine.  She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Chapman University School of Law. During law school, Ms. Branes was the associate managing editor of the Nexus Journal.
